Bear feels more comfortable than any other app that I use for writing. Even for fiction and technical writing, I find that I prefer it to Word, Google Docs, iA, Ulysses, Scrivener, etc.
This question is more about macOS than about Bear itself:
Have you figured out a way to highlight words that you wish to avoid?
I have a list of jargon, cliches, and other words and phrases that I avoid. I would like for Bear to highlight or underline these words and phrases to make it easier for me to notice when my writing is careless or imprecise.
There are prose linters, most notably Vale, which I’ve found fiddly, plus it doesn’t integrate with Bear. I’ve also seen posts about custom dictionaries, so it may be possible to modify Apple’s built-in spellchecking in some way.
Any suggestions?
