Scenario:
Adding a tag to multiple notes at once is a common use case for me and I believe many others. I often create a bunch of notes quickly without tags while in deep work and then tag them later.
Problem:
Currently, tagging multiple notes at once is not easy in Bear. On Mac the only way is drag and drop onto a tag, which has poor accessibility and is generally a bit cumbersome since it requires you to hunt for the right tag without using search. On mobile I believe it’s impossible (I thought you could use a similarly challenging multi-finger drag and drop as well, but it’s not working for me).
Proposal:
My proposal is for a quick tag picker, similar to what the excellent Things app does. (This would also be useful for quickly adding tags to a single note.)
To illustrate, I’ve included some screenshots from Things below. I imagine the Bear implementation could be pretty similar.
Step 1: Select one or more items
Step 2: Open menu and tap “Set tags”
Step 3: Browse or search tags and tap to add
You can even create a new tag from this menu, which is handy.
Thanks for your consideration Bear team!
