I found some threads about my topics, but only in regard to Panda, not to bear.
I want to ask how others are dealing with it.
I use tags throughout the whole note to address certain aspects, not only regarding the entire note but sometimes specific sentences. For example, for me to remember that something is #delegate/name.
Then, when opening the tag #delegate/name, I would like not only to open that note but to jump to where the tag is placed.
I know that currently, there is no option to do that. Maybe in the future? Or how are you dealing with that currently?
To jump to a specific tag within a Bear note (or to quickly locate and jump to that tag in the sidebar), you can use the following methods:
1. Using the “Quick Open” Feature (Best for finding and navigating)
Mac/iPad with Keyboard: Press Command + O to trigger the Quick Open panel. Type the tag name (e.g., #project) and press return to immediately jump to that tag’s view in the sidebar.
iOS: Swipe down with three fingers, type the tag name, and select it from the results.
Click/Tap a Tag: When in editor mode, you can click (Mac) or tap (iOS) any tag located within the body of your note to immediately switch to that tag in the sidebar.
Quick Tag Navigation: When not in edit mode, clicking a tag acts as a shortcut to jump to that tag in the sidebar.
Find Keyword: Use Command + F (Mac) to open the search bar, type #tagname, and use Command + G to cycle through every instance of that tag within the current note.
I’m also someone who tags notes throughout the entire text body. I usually place tags below headings, but sometimes at the end of a paragraph too. So a feature like that would certainly be of interest to me. However I would expect not to have to search for tags blindly, but to be able to select the tag I want to jump to from a list where all the tags in the note are clearly displayed. The search field in the editor would be a good place for such a search. Or maybe the listing appears in the TOC and sends by clicking a tag the search expression to the editors search field? The problem however is that Bear’s database cannot distinguish between tags from the same family (e.g. #tag1/subtag and #tag1). This would make a reliable list impossible in the first place.
Actually, this would be a nice to have. I don’t use tags as much as I probably would. I would do it just like OP but right now when I have multiple tags and open a note I have to do a little more searching to find the tag.
It would be nice to be able to at least navigate between the tags within a note or a way to more contextually jump to the tag.
