Bug report

What were you doing: Signing in with apple account

What feature did you use: Sign in with apple

What happened:

What did you expect to happen:

Be signed in to bear web with my apple account

Feedback:

Hi! Thanks for the feedback. Does it happen consistently? That message is Apple communicating an authentication error, and sadly that is outside of our control. If it happens consistently, and you’re comfortable with the chrome developer tools, it may be useful to share any error you can see in the console relative to this popup window.

I was able to sign in and get access. No problem on my end.

Hello, sorry for the late reply. Yes it happens consistently. I just tried it again and It is still happening now. The only error I get in the dev tools console is this error message.

I’m not sure what else I can do besides report the problem to apple.

I wonder if the obsidian clipper (I imagine that is a browser extension) is somehow conflicting with your sign in process. Could you try to temporarily disable it and check if that improves the situation?

I can confirm that it is currently not possible to sign into the Bear Web Client for me. Neither using Chrome or Firefox and no matter if the Obsidian Web Clipper is installed and active or not… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I have found the reason, why I could not log on the Bear Web App: I had switched on the “enhanced privacy” in my iCloud settings. Turning this off allows the sign in to the Web App with no problems…

I’m glad you solved the issue! Sadly yes, at present time accessing the web app with ADP has regressed (we had reports of positive experiences in the past from several users). To be clear, it’s something that is not under our direct control (we depend on Apple for the sign in process) but it’s something we keep monitoring.
