Using Bear for things to buy / bookmarks

Is anyone using Bear to collect things to purchase. Or a wish list? In a way like a Bookmark app like mymind?

Basically as going through my day I want to save links to items I want to buy. Is it best to save a link and have a new note for every item? So title is the name of the item then with tags like #edc/knife, #kitchen/coffee. Or is it better to have one note for each category. Like a note for EDC where links to all wallets, knives, etc go. That seems harder to find individual items? But I’m not sure

Looking for an examples of how people do this

I have a “might want to” tag with subtags “buy”, “do”, “read”, “visit”, “watch”, etc. Some of these also have subtags: “buy” has “apparel”, “gear”, hardware" and “software”.

So I’d use the Bear extension in Safari to make a note of the webpage with the link to, say, a knife, and tag the note “#might want to/buy/gear#”. On my Mac, dragging a note from Untagged to the relevant tag in the sidebar makes this easy.

I have tried having a single note for all “apparel”, and another for all “gear”, etc, but the notes grew unwieldy. Creating a new note for each item is simpler and faster, and searching for an item produces a discrete result, rather than a page to scroll through.

A single note for multiple items might be useful for, say, comparison shopping, but otherwise I’d recommend one note per item.

I have a tag ‘Links’ which I use as I surf for items I might wish to buy later. I use sub tags within ‘links’ for ‘clothing’, ‘house’ etc and if I find an item I may wish to return to for purchase I insert a link to the seller in a note in each section. Once I (or if) I purchase the item then I simply delete the link note. I have done this for a long time and it works great for me.

I just have one document saying shopping and header for perhaps. Like

Shopping

  • Empty Link

  • item 2

  • item 3

  • some other category item

Perhaps

  • item 4
  • item 5
