Does anyone know if it is possible to add apps to the share menu? I’d like to share to Things 3. I don’t know how it works - is it in the gift of the Bear team, the apple OS or Things 3?
Hello, if you mean on macOS, Things 3 (and Bear) doesn’t come with a sharing extension. It’s up to developers to provide such app extensions.
Thanks for the reply. I’m not sure what you mean. When I select the share menu in Bear I see the options to share with Mail, Messages, Notes, Freeform, Reminders, Shortcuts and OneNote. Who provides that list? Bear or Apple or Apple + Microsoft? It works great with OneNote, is there any reason it couldn’t work with other apps like Things?
The third party developers (MS, Things 3, …) provides sharing extensions for their app and those can be listed there accordingly to user preferences, but in Things case a sharing extension is not provided.
Thanks for clarifying. In fact, I have just managed to add Things 3 to the share list in Bear and it works well. I went to the share menu in Safari, selected edit and selected Things 3 from there. It now appears in the Bear share menu. So it would seem that once Safari has an app on the share menu, it is available to other apps with a share menu.
