Upon creating a file or folder, it defaults to Untitled, and I need to click on the title in order to rename it manually. It’ll be good to default to having the title selected for a rename upon the creation of the file or directory.

1. If the focus is on the sidebar, you can press ↩︎ immediately after creating a new folder or file to rename it. ⌘↩︎ then moves the focus to the editor.
2. If the focus is in the editor when creating a new file, pressing ⌘↩︎ takes you back to the sidebar, where you can proceed as described in point 1.

Nice! I didn’t know about that. It seemed like after note creation, the focus is on the editor. So I’ll need to click around to focus on the sidebar or title bar of the editor, in order to rename.
This fixes my problem!
When the focus is on the sidebar, it remains in the sidebar. If not, the focus is on the editor of the new file. The question is: Wouldn’t it be better, if the focus is always on the sidebar directly after creating a new note?
Another good option could be defaulting the file name to whatever the first level 1 header in the file is. Right now, after creating a file with ctrl-N, the focus is on the editor - which feels intuitive & matches Bear.

Have a preference against this, because filenames could be more compact and abbreviated, and without whitespaces (e.g. never-let-me-go-review.md) whereas the title could be something more readable (e.g. Kazuo Ishiguro's new book tugs at your heartstrings, but is immensely confusing)
