What if we want to keep the Bear 1 in place? Bear 2 is called the same (ā€œBear.appā€) so macOS will prompt us to overwrite the current one. Should we choose the ā€œkeep both copiesā€ option when prompted?

Yes, the Bear 2.0 will be renamed as Bear copy. Or you can rename the app whatever you like.
