Bear.app on Mac has stopped syncing since two months ago (!)

• What were you doing:

Just editing notes, as usual.

• What feature did you use:

I expected notes to sync as usual.

• What happened:

Notes have not synced in two months! Bear incorrectly complains that “the internet connection seems to be offline.”

• What did you expect to happen:

Obviously, I expected notes to sync with my iPhone, where syncing seems active (last sync 2 seconds ago). The two devices use the same iCloud and App Store accounts. I tried toggling syncing on and off on the Mac, to no avail.

UPDATE: After restarting the app, the “no internet connection” message disappeared. Syncing still fails to start, however.

UPDATE #2: The app hadn’t updated in a long time, due to account confusion. After updating everything works as expected. Apologies for the false alarm.
