Bear (iPhone) crashes when adding PDF created by Safari via Share > Markup

  • What were you doing:
    1. created PDF in Safari on iPhone by Share (icon) > Markup > Save File to … some folder in Files App
    2. within the Bear app on iPhone, Add attachment, browsed to located the PDF saved in the Files app, selected it…
  • What feature did you use: Add attachment (long press camera icon, then press attachment icon)
  • What happened: … Bear showed an outline of an attachment in the editor, the crashed 1 second later. happens every time.
  • What did you expect to happen: add PDF as attachment

seems to be related to PDF created in Safari (iPhone) via Share icon > Markup

solution for now: create PDF in Safari (or Chrome) via Print, which is actually a better way, since after pressing the Share icon of the Print window, the PDF can be copied to clipboard (and pasted into Bear); no need to save to Files app. this works just fine.
