Bear web notes showing up in trash unexpectedly

  • What were you doing: Looking up notes
  • What feature did you use: Viewing notes only
  • What happened: When viewing notes on Bear Web, a chunk of notes have appeared within the trash (they shouldnt be there). The option to move them back is grayed out. When viewign the notes on the app via mac, they are where they should be.
  • What did you expect to happen: Notes to be in their usual palce not the trash.

Hi, and thanks for the feedback. This is very odd. Did the notes appear only in the trash or were they also visible in the main notes section? We’ll investigate this as a priority of course.

No they only show up within the trash. All the folders ha e disappeared from the normal list.

They are, however, all still visible as usual in IOS.

I have tested creating more folders within IOS and it seems only certain ones become visible. There doesn’t seem to be a pattern to it.

I have a couple of follow-up questions:

  1. By creating new folders you mean adding new tags to existing notes?
  2. Can you confirm whether the notes in the trash keep showing up there when you reload Bear Web?

Apologies. I do mean a new tag.

Most, but not all, tags are showing up in the trash once I have reloaded.

I have just checked again and they are now not even showing in the trash.

They are still showing on ios

Hi @jimbobsey thanks, we’re still trying to piece together the issue. One last question: do you have a Bear Pro subscription? I’m asking because sync between multiple devices (for example between Bear Web and Bear iOS) only happens if you have a subscription, otherwise the notes will only stay on the current device (the notes created and edited on Bear on iOS will not propagate to Bear Web, and vice versa).

Ok thanks for confirming that. We’ll keep investigating.
So to summarise, can you confirm that the current situation is that, on Bear Web:

  1. some notes are normally visible and they match what happens in iOS (including edits)
  2. others notes are showing up only in the trash, while they show correctly in iOS
  3. some notes are not showing at all, not even in the trash, while they show correctly in iOS

I’m not sure you’re experiencing both 2 and 3, or only 3 at this point, could you confirm? Also, if you’re comfortable with that, a screenshot may be helpful to clarify the situation.

Hi again. Correct. It is currently only numbers 1 and 3. Its did start as 1 and 2 however.
