Bear Web Update 0.34 (2026-05-18)

It’s been quiet here for a while, but we’ve been busy working on a number of features for Bear Web.

Load (or refresh) https://web.bear.app to enjoy:

Headline features

  • Edit Tag panel - new contextual panel with icon picker, accessible from the sidebar.

  • Tag rename - rename a tag from the edit panel; merges into an existing tag if the new name collides.

  • Tagcon search — tagcon search field in the edit-tag panel.

  • Tag delete - Delete Tag context menu action with cascade delete of descendants and reference cleanup from notes.

  • App icon picker - choose from multiple app icons (from the settings panel, top-left menu).

Quality-of-life

  • Shortcuts cheatsheet — toggle with ? (or the Keyboard Shortcuts item in the top-left menu)

This was definitely a missing piece and it seems to work really well!

Just a minor note: as I pointed out in the past regarding scrollbars, on Chrome/Linux the default browser ones are still visible and a bit clunky. It’s nothing urgent, but it would be great to have a lighter, custom scrollbar eventually.
