Yeah wow, that’s worth noting! @bru it works fine for me, with ADP on, as soon as I turn off passkeys. Passkeys seem to be the limiting factor. At least, I can log in via Firefox on windows now - haven’t tried any other scenarios.
Would be awesome if there was some way to do so with passkeys working, but I am happy with this as an interim
Right - but you said earlier you were using the default two factor auth for icloud, which is not passkey.
So just to confirm, I had passkeys on for icloud auth, and once that was disabled, I can log into bear with user + pass + the 6 digit code. Is this the case for you, or are you somehow using a hybrid of legacy 2FA for Bear login, and passkeys for the rest of your apple account?
This is interesting. So I did a test. Here’s what I know—I have:
ADP is on
iCloud Web Access is on
Passkey is on
I can access Bear Web using username + password + Apple OTP (not Passkey). So yeah, as of now, I will use Bear Web with Advanced Data Protection (ON). It’s just wonderful. Thanks!
I have confirmed that I now can log in with ADP enabled if I have 2FA enabled together with a password. We have tested this before without success and reported it to Apple. Somewhere along the way they have likely enabled it to work the same for third parties like us, as it works for them on icloud.com. Advanced Data Protection for iCloud - Apple Support (IE)
