CMD+Delete on MacOS deletes the note instead of current line

Operation system: Mac OS 15.3.2

Web Browser: Firefox 136.0.2 (aarch64)

Bug report

What were you doing: Editing notes

What feature did you use: Keyboard shortcuts

What happened: Default behavior of keyboard shortcut is not working

What did you expect to happen: CMD+Delete should delete a line and not the entire note

Feedback:

Hi,
While editing my notes today I realized that “CMD+Delete” keyboard shortcut deletes the entire note instead of deleting the current line. Is this expected? Usually in Mac OS, the default behavior of this shortcut is to remove the current line. It was working before if I recall correctly. Would be great if you could have a look.

Hi, great feedback, thanks. I assume you refer to the CMD-backspace shortcut; according to our current map (it’s pretty volatile at the moment) it should be deleting the current note… but I agree that keybinding should not be active while editing the note itself. I’ll add this to my list.

I’m experiencing a similar issue on windows web version. When I do ctrl + backspace it deletes the complete note and moves it to trash. Ideally this should delete a single word. This is so annoying since I’ve got the muscle memory of always pressing ctrl + backspace while writing and it doesn’t work in bear as intended and I always end up deleting the note.

Bear with us, a fix is already lined up for the next release.
