What were you doing: I wanted to see if it was possible to use asterisks (*) or daggers (†) in a footnote instead of a number.
What feature did you use: Footnote
What happened: When the closing bracket was typed on [^*], the app crashed. The dagger footnote worked as expected.
What did you expect to happen: A footnote using an asterisk would be created and the app would not crash. Or, if the feature was unsupported for asterisks because of markdown conflicts, nothing would happen and the app would not crash.
