Duplicate Tags in Sidebar

Operation system:
MacOS 15.3

Web Browser:
Safari 18.3

Bug report

What were you doing:
Logged into the web app after updating some tags on the Mac

What happened:
The tags I had recently edited on the Mac were duplicated, and the notes split between them. Going back to the Mac the tags looked like they should.

What did you expect to happen:
The tags to match

Feedback:
It looks like somewhere something is getting stuck with the syncing. There’s duplicate tags for one entry (as per the screenshot), but also tags that I’ve renamed/replaced are still existing with some, but not all, of the notes still being assigned to them. On the Mac everything is looking as expected.

Thanks for the feedback. We’re trying to replicate the issue, we’ll keep you posted.

I have noticed some issues with tags seemingly being case sensitive in Bear Web, while that is not the case in the App versions.

So it looks like tags with mixed case can create some internal confusion for the web app.

Just a thought

PS. After some testing:

Tapping an upper case or mixed case tag in a note will crash the web app (forced to do a new login)

While tapping same tag written in all lower case, will set that tag active in the tag pane, as it should.

This is super useful, thanks. Sounds like we have a new regression. Adding it to the high priority list.
