Error Message With Writing Tools

  • OS Version: Tahoe 26.2 - MacBook Pro M1
  • What were you doing: selected a chunk of text (9 paragraphs, 77 words, 466 characters), Right Click, select “Show Writing Tools” then select one of the options
  • What feature did you use: Writing Tools
  • What happened:

Error message comes up : Writing Tools Unavailable. Try a longer selection

  • What did you expect to happen:

Text to be re-written.

If I copy the text into Apple Notes or Pages the Writing Tools work correctly.

Any help to address this would be most appreciated.

We know this happens on macOS when the Writing Tools are used. However, we have very little control over the WT API, and we can’t provide more information on this problem.
Other people experiencing WT Unavailable messages told us the problem fixed itself over time or with a device reboot.
