Future Potential Export PDF Features

I realize this isn’t something at the top of the list but wanted to get it documented for you. I also realize what I’m asking may not ever be possible or doesn’t align with your goals and principals for Lettera. The current PDF export renders beautifully and seems to match what we see in the editor but for what I’m doing I could use a little help.

Here’s my list.

  1. PDF export that isn’t in a flattened state.
    1. allows me to move or resize images
  2. Support for the following HTML tag to enable page breaks
    1. upon export, process above tag and create a new page

    2. note: creating page breaks is apparently not possible once the PDF exists but can occur during the creation of the PDF

    3. found an app called MacDown 3000 which reads the MD file and utilizes the HTML tag to insert a page break. The issue is that it doesn’t recognize your additional features such as callouts and quotes as beautiful as you do. Marked 2 had also not been as reliable and consistent in its rendering and also converts your graphics into text for the same.

  3. Combine multiple MD files into a PDF
  4. recognize “width:” on the image syntax which I believe you add and is not part of the basic syntax or use HTML tags to enhance the output but recognize them when creating the PDF
    1. ![] (image.jpg)<-!-- {“width”:123} →
    2. your HTML export appears to be identical to the editor whereas the PDF is not 100%

I realize none of these may occur but thought I’d at least get them in front of you to consider.

Is there a way I would know if these get cut from your backlog?

I’m not expecting them in any timeframe and will keep working through with other solutions to create my final product but must you know that you render your MD better than any of the other apps out there right now and the fewer components to my workflow the better. I’m not looking to write scripts or other console based solutions as I prefer to spend my time on writing and paying teams like yours to do the heavy lifting.
