Gruber footnotes someday?

One of the nice thing on the interwebs are footnotes that, at the end of the footnote, have a back arrow that returns you to the position of the original footnote. A Gruber footnote, as it were.

Just a thought.

Seems to exist! When you add a footnote in Lettera, clicking the number of the footnote returns you the original insertion point.

Agreed. I checked on that after I posted - and then decided to leave the post up. Why?

Well, for one, a LOT of footnotes on the web look just like this, and don’t take you back to their origin. Which means people don’t even bother a lot of the time. So, with an arrow at the end, it becomes obvious.

Plus, I generally like choice, where possible. I’d love if the footnotes had styling options, too, but perhaps I’m dreaming.

Kudos to Littera for making good footnotes out of the box.

And thank you for pointing it out, so that others might know.
