In the Apple Store version of Bear, there is a toolbar above the keyboard for selecting Markdown modifiers. This is missing from the beta version. I know there is a new keyboard panel for selecting Markdown modifiers, but I found the toolbar to be much more quickly accessible and intuitive. Maybe you can add a setting that allows you to use the toolbar instead of the new keyboard?
