How many words can I have in a single document?

I like the new outline tab in Bear 2.0. I write fiction and splitting the text into different blocks with a heading for each, and then being able to navigate through the document, is great. I was just wondering though, is there a maximum word count before things start to fall over? There’d be no images, pdfs or attachments inside my documents, just pure text. For an average novel, I’d be looking at sixty to seventy thousand words. I’d happily split that into three documents though, one for each act, if ever there was an issue.

I have notes with 180,000 words and it works fine so far.

I’m having immense performance issues on iPhone 16 pro with notes around 30,000 words. Takes a few minutes before I can scroll in it, and then if I edit anything, another few minutes. Do you have an export of the bible note I can import for testing?

On iOS, in the v2.3.8 app, when scrolling a note of ≈3500 words with a large number of titles and nested items, next to which the collapse/unfold arrow is displayed - there are performance problems. If I drop the notes with the help of the table of contents and start going upstairs, the note will “tremble” for a while, as if the device does not pull the application. Then the note will start working normally. If you need additional information, please let me know.
