How to Add a Line Break in an Ordered List Without Adding a Number?

I’m currently using the Bear editor and have run into an issue with ordered lists that I’d like some help with.

Scenario Description: When working with an ordered list, I’m unable to insert a line break while maintaining the current indentation level without adding a new numbered item. Pressing “Enter” creates a new numbered entry, while “Shift + Enter” removes the indentation entirely (similar to double-pressing “Enter”), breaking the list format.

Question: Is there a way to make “Shift + Enter” insert a simple line break—keeping the indentation intact but not adding a new number? I’d like to continue writing under the same list item without starting a new one. I provided a image which I want to do with Shift Enter:

Any suggestions or workarounds would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Hi jasoniii!
It’s quite simple. When you’re working with a numbered list, just press Enter — for example, you’ll get “2.”.
Press Enter again, and it deletes the number. Then you can press Tab to get the same indentation.
When you’re ready for the next numbered list item, just type “Enter” or write “3.” and press Space. I tested in on Mac, iPad & iPhone.

I know this is a method. But I truly want a simpler way that only needs one input, such as shift enter, which works in Typora.

For whatever reason ctrl+enter as hotkey works BUT only if you uncheck or change in the Mac setting the standard hotkey for “show contextual menu”.

Actually the standard is to use shift+enter in many apps to add a line break. No clue why it won’t work in bear.

Here is another discussion to that issue:

I am not sure if I have misunderstood @Matteo but I think he said in his reply that shift+enter should work. But it doesn’t. Matteo, can you clarify?
