Link to file rather than embed?

Does anybody have a good way to link to file in Finder/Files rather than embedding the file? For example, I have a Numbers file in my Finder, and I want to edit that version.

I’ve explored using Shortcuts (would rather not use this as I would clutter my Shortcuts with single links), I know of Hookmark but would prefer a native approach.

Most other apps have deep links, but I’ve heard that files deep links depend on file path, so it may not be robust enough.

Thanks!

Native option: on macOS you can drag a file into a Bear note while holding a modifier to insert a file:// link rather than embedding, or right-click the file, Copy, then website paste as a link. The catch you already noted holds though, file:// paths break if you move the file. For something more robust than raw paths, Hookmark really is the tool built for exactly this, even if it’s not native.
