Losing toolbar on iOS

  • Bear Version: 2.6.3
  • OS Version: iOS 26

I am periodically, losing the toolbar, which dis allows me to go back to the keyboard. I’ve almost got nailed down the steps to reproduce and I’ll include that, but I wanted to get this to you because you may already know about it.

This happened to me too, several times. But I don’t have a specific pattern of when it happens.

This happens to me everyday :frowning: I have to exit the note and reopen it to get the keyboard back

I’m on iOS 26.0.1, iPhone 16 Pro Max and Bear 2.6.3.

I’m also having this issue on my iPhone 15 Pro and my iPad Pro 11 M1. But up to date.

I reported this issue to Bear support with reproduction steps and a recording of me reproducing it on October 3, so I suspect they’ll be able to fix this soon-ish.

FWIW, here are reproduction steps:

Reproduction Steps:

  1. Open Bear and open a note
  2. Tap to put cursor next a heading and open keyboard
  3. Tap “BIU” to switch to formatting keyboard
  4. Minimize the formatting keyboard
  5. Tap to heading again to re-open formatting keyboard.
  6. Tap “ABC” to switch to typing keyboard
  7. Tap “BIU” to switch back to formatting keyboard
  8. Minimize the formatting keyboard again
  9. Tap next to heading again to re-open the formatting keyboard
  10. Formatting keyboard opens, but there the bar at the top to minimize the keyboard and toggle keyboard type is now missing. It will not come back unless the app is force quit.

Hello,

The upcoming 26.1 release seems to fix this and other issues related to the positioning or disapperance of the keyboard accessory view.

Best Regards.
