- Bear Version: Version 2.3.4 (12931)
- OS Version: macOS 15.1.1 (24B91) and iOS 18.3
- What were you doing: Creating notes as per the Forever Notes system that identifies key notes by using an asterisk in the title (✺ - as well as others). If a note exists that is called “✺ January” and you go to insert a link ([[) then “✺ January” shows up in the link list. If you then create notes “✺ 01 January” and go to insert a link ([[) “✺ January” continues to show up correctly in the link list. If you continue this, when you get to “✺ 08 January” and try to insert a link ([[) “✺ January” does not show up in the link list. As soon as you delete “✺ 08 January”, and go to enter a link again, “✺ 08 January” shows back up. This behavour occurs irrespective of how “✺ 08 January” is created (by creating “[[✺ 08 January]]” and clicking it to create the note, or by creating a new note, copying the ✺ from days 01-07 and typing “January”). The error seems to be depenended on the number of (“✺ date of the week” notes created as anything above 7 seems to cause the issue irrespective of the number entered (1-6 + 28 January creates the same error). For some reason this doesn’t happen with the heavy asterisk (✱), but I need other asterisks to help delinate different areas of life (Home: ✺ 01 January, Work: ✱ 01 January etc.
- What feature did you use: Links ([[)
- What happened: Link doesn’t show when certain titles exist.
- What did you expect to happen: I expected the note to still be visable in the link list.
Any advice or thoughts on how to prevent this behavour from occuring and get the titles to show up would be much appreciated. Video attached showing the issue.
