Panda update - new beta available now!

Love this and the Beta strikes me as perfectly functional—I’m just running into one issue: every time I try opening a new .md file, MacOS prevents me from opening it with Panda.

Anyone knows how to get around this? Thanks!

The download link at the top seems to say “Beta expired” when I try to open the app :frowning:

Thank you!!! That’s amazing.

Will we get a file management feature around Panda? I am using it as my main markdown app and increasingly wish I could have some sort of file management feature.

We will

Just wanted to confirm that the latest beta is nothing more than the markdown editor with no file/tag management features? I’m just seeing a blank window with no option to enable the views you showed in your earlier screenshots - wanted to be sure I was using the most current version (3151)

As I really like Bear, I’m considering trying Panda, so I have the following questions:

  1. Is downloading the shared .zip file and running the app enough to start using it? Or do I also need to register somewhere?
  2. Is it expected to work if I disallow any network connections to it?
  3. I’m planning to store my notes library in OneDrive to sync it between my several Macs. Is this expected to work?

Why don’t you try it and find out? Personally I think it’s great, but you might not like it

Yes, just running the app is enough.

It’s completely offline (aside from auto-updating, but you can do that manually).

Panda works on files, it doesn’t care where you’re storing them

When I have a document then paste and image or drag and drop an image into Panda, that is all I see. The text is no longer visible and I cannot add any text. If I edit→undo then I get back to the text before the image paste. TIA for any help.

Whilst I use Bear and love it, I really love Panda for editing the .md files in my Github repositories. Is there any chance that the editor in Panda will be updated to the current editor build in Bear? Things like callouts are particularly important for my doco and I know Panda started live as the editor now in Bear, but seems to have been left on a previous build…

So, any chance the editor could be back-ported from Bear to Panda to support things such as callouts etc.?

I have the same issue when I set Panda as the default app for .md files. To avoid this I had to set another app as the default, and use -right click-, Open With…, Panda.
