Persistent Table of Contents

I often create long-form documents in Bear with lots of headings, and it would be very handy to be able to have the ToC be persistent. I have to use my cursor to go to the little “i”, and then tap on the ToC tab and then tap on the heading I need to jump to. (I know, my life is SO hard.)

Would that be super hard to implement? Maybe it would require an entirely new design element and you’re reticent to add complexity, but I thought I’d ask!

On macOS, you can tear it off of the window. (by dragging it away) and it will stay persistent to that window.

Oh my goodness - seriously??? That’s awesome. Thanks so much, it works great.

Unfortunately, typing in the note with the dragged away window open will cause that window to move downward. So it’s impossible to type with the TOC open.

Maybe it’s an issue with your Mac? I have never had this issue. If you think its an issue with your Bear install, submit a support request.

The ToC functions perfectly when torn off for me as well. Hope you figure out what’s wrong @studio2054
