Plans for iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe

Out of interest: what does the Bear team think of Apple’s new updates? Any plans for a design overhaul for Liquid Glass (please no :face_with_tongue:). Implementation of Foundation Models to ask questions about my notes (sounds good in theory)? Other cool stuff that I missed because I’m not a developer?

edit: just noticed that Foundation Models have already been mentioned here, but feel free to add other thoughts

We’re still watching WWDC videos and brainstorming ideas!

Foundation models look cool, but we still need to understand what value they can bring to the users.

As for Liquid Glass it doesn’t seems to be very compatible with our theming system, so I’m not sure that we’ll be able to embrace it

Do you know if Liquid Glass messes up the themes somehow or can you ignore the design change inside your app?

I have the beta’s running here (for work, not my devices), and Bear looks completely fine and not out of place. The curve of the rounded window edges on macOS definitely has to be adjusted though, just like the size of the red, yellow & green buttons, but I think (hope?) that’s a question of compiling with the new Xcode…

I’m running Bear on an iPad Pro, iPad Mini and MacBook Air running DB1. It works just fine. As for Liquid Glass, please don’t turn your UI into something only Claude Rains (The Invisible Man) could love.
