Is it possible to “unhide” tags for a specific parent tag, instead of it turning off “hide sub tags” for all notes/tags?
I generally like “hide sub tags” for all navigating my tags, but occasionally I want to see everything in a given parent tag without turning it off globally.
Or should this be a feature request?

This is also on my list of feature requests @danmills7.
Specifically, I want to keep “Hide Subtag Notes” on for all my tags except the root tag for my daily notes system. That root tag has a complex shortcut-generated list of subtags for year and month. (e.g. #journal/2023/07) and it’s nice to be able to click on the root #journal tag in the sidebar and have easy access to multiple recent days’ notes.
