Sharing content to Bear is broken

  • Bear Version: latest
  • OS Version: Sequoia 15.1
  • What were you doing: Sharing a collection of articles from a website to bear so I can edit them, save them as .md, and import them into a new website
  • What feature did you use: Chrome extension and safari extension, both are broken
  • What happened: It only collects some of the article
  • What did you expect to happen: it to collect everything in the article

I reported this about a year ago and it’s still broken. I need this capability for my workflow of editing content from time to time and I can’t use it. Bear team, please fix the browser extensions and finally add the macOS Action Extension.

Do you mind sharing the webpage link?

Sometimes the quality of the web clips are good, sometimes they are bad. If the results were reliably good like in good links or unread app, bear would be the perfect read later app for me. Unfortunately, I can’t use the feature this way

@trix180 man, a lot of us really want a macOS share extension. I know that I’ve personally been hoping for it since the Bear 2 release which was almost a year and a half ago now.

The current browser extensions are unreliable (and their icons look bad—they’re too big and the coloring makes them too heavy compared to all other icons) and it kills an important part of my workflow which relies on my tools being integrated with the OS

I wonder if you develop the macOS share/action extension you might be able to deprecate your browser extensions. I think most modern browsers provide a path to those macOS share extensions now.
