Tagging outside the note itself

In addition to the current inline notes tagging system, I’d love to have the option of tagging a note externally to the note itself (i.e. by right-clicking on the note within the Notes pane, and assigning the tag there).

I don’t necessarily want to actually see the text-based tag itself (inside my note), and not all notes are contextually appropriate to include them inline.

Additionally, a tag ‘manager’ (say, to review and delete any tags that have been duplicated, bar a typo; or to consolidate tags so that all notes sharing each of the relevant tags are now merged under one tag) would be a great way to augment this Notes-pane tagging approach.

I doubt there’s ever going to be external metadata to notes. This countermands Bear’s underlying philosophy which is to provide the best Markdown experience on top of that feature set. Notably, that implies all file data is in the file itself.

I agree however that a little more quality-of-life tools could be brought to tag management down the line.

I am curious to hear what you mean by that in particular. Actually I intend to ask for some improvements in next time.
