Visible markdown in read-only notes

  • What feature did you use: Read-only mode
  • What happened: The markdown characters are shown.
  • What did you expect to happen: The markdown characters are not visible in read only mode.

The same thing happens in the iOS version when I try to select text.

I can confirm this is the expected behavior regarding readonly notes but I’d like to know if other people find this odd.

I don’t mind the way it is now, but it would be nice to have it hidden when in read-only…

I have no reason why I would want to see mark ups in read only mode

I agree with @krssno. I too have no reason why I would want to see mark ups in read only mode.

I use the readonly mode to present and it breaks the visual consistently while clicking on bold text or any text that has markup. It would be great if read only mode is like a PDF export but without page breaks.

I find this odd too. Maybe include a live-view mode to show markdown in read mode. Read only mode should be read only. It should not break visual consistency.
