Make creation date of a note modifiable

I would love to make the order in SOME tags customizable. But I think that would destroy the workflow with tags a bit. The best compromise would be to make creation dates modifiable, so I can add old things, which should be not on top from the beginning (for archiving purposes) and then can sort everything by creation date.

For example, when I add older meeting notes or something like that. This way, you can keep order for such things.

I think such a thing would be kinda easy to implement (just add a date picker in the info menu of a note) and at the same time, wouldn’t obstruct anybodys workflow.

You’re not the first one to ask for this I think! It would be quite convenient

While it isn’t the feature you’re asking about, there’s an alternative that might be helpful. I use a YYYY-MM-DD start for my note titles and then sort the notes list by reverse alphabetical, which gives the effect you’re looking for.

It has the added bonus of maintaining dates when exporting to Markdown for backup purposes, via filenames (from the titles), as opposed to relying on the filesystem’s undependable date metadata.

+1 for this and also for an editable modification date.

+1 to editable creation and modification dates. Would also help with importing notes when I need to correct some formatting broken by the import.
