Many or Few Tags?

I’m new to Bear from Evernote. So, in bringing over my notebooks, one at a time, I’m quickly overwhelmed by tags and sub-tabs! Should I have broad subject tabs and utilize the search bar (which I think I’d likely do anyway)?

In Evernote, they suggested fewer notebooks and use the search (OCR) to find notes.

Thanks for your help!

This is very much personal preference. I personally, like to have no more than 5-7 top-level tags. Then, under each of those, I try not to go any deeper than that next tag. So, overall it’s pretty flat structure. Plus, when you start adding a tag to a note, you can “search as you type” to find the tag you want to use.
