I am currently having an issue with Bear Web. Yesterday, I edited some notes. Unfortunately, the notes in the web app are no longer syncing with the apps on my iPhone or iPad.
I have a valid Bear subscription, and I have disabled Apple’s advanced privacy feature. I have also tried logging in via different browsers (Chrome, Brave, and Edge) and accessing the app via an incognito window, but nothing has worked.
Does anyone have any ideas about what I could try?
Hi, thanks for the feedback and sorry you’re experiencing issues with the sync. To clarify, you say when editing on the web, the changes do not propagate to the other devices, while if you edit on (for example) the iPad, those notes get synced to your iPhone (and I assume the web as well). Is that correct? Was yesterday the first time this happened?
However, I just realized that the problem is probably a display error. I created a note with a tag in the web interface. I can see the note in the web interface, but the tag isn’t displayed in the left-hand bar. Could the web interface be having trouble with German umlauts (Ä, Ö, Ü)? I used the tag “Ankündigung” (announcement). When I use “Ankuendigung” instead, it works fine. In this case, synchronization with my mobile devices also works.
For now, my problem is solved, as I know I need to pay attention to the umlauts.
That’s excellent troubleshooting advice. It is possible one of the recent updates broke internationalisation support. Obviously it should work with umlauts as well, I’ll double check that with top priority.
