Global search no longer scrolls note to first occurence

In the past, when doing any sort of global search, clicking on a note in the results list would scroll the note to the first found result. That no longer seems to be the case. Is that intentional or a bug? Thanks.

Issue presents on both Sonoma and Sequoia.

Bear version 2.3.5 (12991)

Steps to reproduce:

  • cmd-shift-f, enter search term
  • click on various notes in the resultant list
  • the notes will NOT be scrolled to the first occurrence of the seach term

Expected result

  • in prior versions of Bear, when clicking on any resultant note, the note scrolled to the first occurence of the search term.

Hi @matteo and @rexikan, wondering if you all can reproduce this error. This bug still presents on Version 2.3.10 (13092). Thanks.

If you are experiencing this on iOS/iPadOS next update will fix this issue.

This is on macOS. I can consistently reproduce this on both Sonoma and Sequoia releases, including Sequoia 15.2 (24C101).

Hi @trix180 - any update on when this bug will be fixed on macOS? I just installed 2.3.11 (13182) and see that the bug is still there. Thanks.

I can reproduce this bug on iOS 18.3 on an iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Bear version 2.3.10 (13092).

Since the last update was more than 11 days ago, I believe the next version out should contain the fix mentioned above.

The latest beta update should fix this problem for text matches. The attachment (PDF, images, text files, …) matches still need some work.
