Spoken Content in IOS is broken

I use Bear on IOS version 2.3.4 (12931) and like to use the Spoken Content feature of IOS. Recently it is pretty buggy. When I ask it to speak a page, Bear will begin normally, but after a while, it will return to the beginning, speak in a different voice, and speaks a paragaph repeatedly until I change to a different app with audio content (music, podcasts, etc.) Then if I try to restart the spoken content, it does nothing. Also, as soon as the speaking begins, Bear creates a new blank note. Please advise.

Please tell me more about how you trigger Spoken Content?

Since the update to the current version of IOS, I could download text files to my phone, do a two fingered swipe down, and I would get the file read to me. Now that works about 1/2 of the time. However, most times it will read a few paragraphs and then either going into a repeat loop, go back the beginning and change voices to read about one paragraph repeatedly in a different voice, or not read at all. Also, now, when the reading begins, it also creates a new blank note.
I have to do various things to get out of the loop. Sometimes if I use another audio program (music, podcast), it will stop completely, but sometimes it will restart if I stop the other program. Quitting Bear does nothing to stop the error or reset.
The only way I can get it to work properly for a while is to restart the phone.

I think this is an iOS accessibility option but I’m not sure which one, can you please point me to this option? I’m surprised the two fingers swipe down doesn’t conflict with Bear’s gestures.

This raises the suspect this is an iOS 18 bug. Can you please check this bug after updating to iOS 18.1 today?

Ok, I’ll check it out.

I have installed 18.1 and there is no change…

Is the spoken content functionality working as expected in Apple Notes?

I tried and got the same result. ERGO, it seems to me it is an IOS problem and not a Bear problem. I will readdress with Apple.
